7th Grade Standard III-Objective 1 Cell Structure and Function

Standard III Students will understand that the organs in an organism are made of cells that have structures and perform specific life functions.
Objective 1: Observe and describe cellular structures and functions.

Enduring Understanding: Living things are made of smaller structures called cells. There are differences between different cells. Substances move into and out of cells because of osmosis and diffusion.

"I Can" Statements:

  1. I can describe the basic structure of all living things.
  2. I can demonstrate how to observe various cells and their parts.
  3. I can compare and contrast how cells are alike and different.
  4. I can explain how cells move food into the cell and wastes outside the cell.
