Standard I-Objective 3 Interactions in Ecosystems

Standard I: Students will understand that living organisms interact with
one another and their environment.
Objective
3:
Describe how interactions among organisms and their environment
help shape ecosystems.

Enduring Understanding: Ecosystems are shaped by interactions among living organisms and their physical environment. Ecosystems change constantly either staying in a state of dynamic
balance or shifting to a new state of balance. Humans influence the ecosystems of which they are a part.

Essential Questions

  1. I can measure the interactions between
living things and how they influence the balance of an ecosystem.
  2. I can describe the biotic and abiotic factors that interact to make an ecosystem unique.
  3. I can change a variable to discover it's impact on an ecosystem.
  4. I can investigate how the concept of balance applies to ecosystem.
  5. I can debate local and global practices that influence an ecosystem.
