Standard II-Objective 2 Energy in cells

Standard II: Students will understand that all organisms are composed of one or more cells that are; made of molecules, come from preexisting cells, and perform life functions.
Objective 2: Describe the flow of energy and matter in cellular function.

Enduring Understanding: Cells perform a variety of functions necessary to maintain homeostasis and life. Autotrophic cells are able to perform photosynthesis and store energy
from sunlight. Heterotrohophic cells rely on outside sources of nutrients. Both autotrophs and heterotrophs undergo respiration as the process of releasing energy for the cell.
